This position will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of fundraising and patron events that advance revenue goals, strengthen donor relationships, and reflect the organization's artistic excellence and community impact. This position is also the primary staff liaison between the Symphony Society and the Symphony League.
Reporting to the Director, Special Events, this position implements event management details for the Symphony’s major galas, general cultivation, and donor events. This position will interact with high-level volunteers to further the Symphony’s goals.
The Development Officer serves as a key fundraiser on the Development team, working to identify individuals with the potential to make meaningful gifts to the Houston Symphony and demonstrating donor-centric moves management through the fundraising cycle.
Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving & Membership, the Development Associate, Annual Giving provides essential administrative and operational support to the Annual Giving team, helping to advance the Houston Symphony’s contributed revenue goals across its Membership, Young Associates Council, and Circles programs.
The Director of Orchestra Personnel oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the Houston Symphony’s orchestra personnel function.
The Stage Manager provides essential support to the Director of Concert Operations and the Operations team, performing assigned concert operations activities and proactively maintaining a safe and friendly backstage environment.
Uphold and embody the Symphony’s customer service mission through proactively offering superior service, personalized care, and a positive experience that exceeds customer expectations.

Successful candidates from the Houston Symphony substitute and extra musician auditions will be placed on the substitute pool list for possible engagement with the orchestra as needed. Substitute and extra musicians are engaged on per-service basis at the rate of $218.00, as of October 5, 2025.
