We are excited to announce the Houston Symphony’s 2019 Wine Dinner and Collector’s Auction, An Evening with Great Composers, a theme inspired by Houston artist David Adickes’ Composer Portraits Series. This oenophile’s celebration presents the traditional extensive auction and gourmet dinner in a new venue for the Houston Symphony, The Astorian, in historic Sawyer Heights, on Friday, February 8, 2019.

This exclusive annual gala supports the Houston Symphony’s industry-leading Education and Community Engagement initiatives, at Jones Hall and in schools, hospitals and other venues throughout the city. These activities serve more than 181,000 Houstonians from all walks of life, including 114,000 children, each year.

This sparkling evening starts with a wine and champagne reception, during which you may find your favorite vintage or rare and exceptional wines and related packages in the wide-ranging Collector’s Auction. Popular features from previous auctions will be back, including a case of 100-point wines. Afterward, you will enjoy an outstanding multi-course dinner, paired with wines chosen thoughtfully by Lindy and John Rydman of Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods.

Every year, the event begins with a reception for guests to sip wine and champagne, explore a variety of outstanding wines and wine-related items in the extensive silent auction, and participate in the ever-popular raffle to win 12 bottles of 100-point wine. Best of all, every dollar raised through the auction supports the Symphony’s nationally-recognized Education and Community Engagement initiatives that serve more than 181,000 Houstonians, including 114,000 children, each year.

All bidding will be done electronically through iPads and your mobile device. An online auction catalog will be available to view 3-4 weeks prior to the event.
