ABOUT THIS CONCERT

Glittering lochs, emerald-green Highlands, misty peaks, and age-old ruins kindled the spark of Mendelssohn’s inspiration in his delightful “Scottish” Symphony, a vivid sonic snapshot filled with wistful melodies and infectious rhythmic verve. Elim Chan, Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, joins the Houston Symphony. Bruch’s lively concerto is one of the most popular in the repertoire, and shines at the hands of 2018 Sphinx Award winner and Houston native Rubén Rengel.

This concert is sponsored in part by the City of Houston through the Miller Theatre Advisory Board. Click to view all our 2018 summer concerts at Miller Outdoor Theatre.
