    In advance of the March 1st and 2nd presentations of Alban Berg’s masterwork Wozzeck, we will be hosting several opportunities for audiences to learn more about this monumental and rarely performed work.  Join us at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston for a Wozzeck film screening and reception, free post-concert discussions, or a class offering at the Jewish Community Center.

    To better acquaint audiences with this rarely performed operatic masterwork, we are partnering with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston for a showing of Joachim Hess' 1972 film version of Berg's Opera, starring Toni Blankenheim.  As an introduction to the film, hear from MFAH curator, Helga Aurisch as she speaks about art works of the Expressionist era and how it provides a context for a better understanding of Wozzeck.  A free wine reception precedes the screening.
