Foundation support is vital and contributes significantly to the Houston Symphony's Annual Fund, General Endowment and underwrites an array concert series, education programs and community outreach activities that enhances the quality of life for our area's diverse citizenry and for the greater good of our city.
The Houston Symphony is fortunate to have the generous and longstanding support of many local and national Foundations. These gifts provide the basis on which all other fundraising activities are built and sustained, and as such, play a vital role in ensuring our continued artistic preeminence and organizational growth as one of America's most acclaimed symphony orchestras.
The Houston Symphony is also very grateful for the generous support received from a number of Government entities. These government organizations include the National Endowment for the Arts, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County and the Houston Downtown Alliance. Government grants fund a variety of projects that range from special commissions by some of the nation's most acclaimed composers to education and community outreach programs.
