League Concerto Competition
One of the oldest projects of the Houston Symphony League, this Competition is open to student musicians 18 years of age or younger who have not yet graduated from high school and who play any standard orchestral instrument or piano.

The 2010 Houston Symphony League Concerto Competition Winners
The Houston Symphony League Concerto Competition for advanced student instrumentalists is a major educational and artistic experience for young area musicians. The 2010 event was held on January 9, 2010. The winners and prizes are:
- Adam Wu, violin — Homeschooled 12th grader from Sugar Land
$1000 and a performance with the Houston Symphony at the Salute to Educators Concert on February 25, 2011
- Jeremy Reynolds, clarinet — Homeschooled 11tth grader from Alleyton
$500 and a performance at the Houston Symphony League luncheon in May, 2010
- Matthew Bolaños — 11th grader at Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville ISD)
$500 and a performance at the Houston Symphony League luncheon in May, 2010
