"Learn to Play the Harmonica" Clinic
» 2:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. Join Texas blues harp ace, Steve Krase, from the Houston Blues Museum for a participatory instructional clinic on how to play the harmonica. Clinics will be held in the Texas Avenue Lower Lounge at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm and basic beginner harmonicas are available for purchase at the event.
FREE Houston Symphony Concerts
» 1:00 p.m. | 8:00 p.m. Experience two FREE Houston Symphony concerts at our 3rd Annual FREE Day of Music! At 1:00 PM the orchestra will perform works by Mendelssohn, Moncayo and Tchaikovsky in a family friendly program that will appeal to kids of all ages. At 8:00 PM, Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada will lead the orchestra in an all-Dvorák concert featuring selected Slavonic Dances and a complete performance of Dvorák's Symphony No. 9, From the New World.
Colombian Youth Philharmonic
» 3:00 p.m. The Houston Symphony welcomes the Colombian Youth Philharmonic to Houston for a week-long residency that will include orchestral and chamber music performances as well as volunteer work with Houston students and seniors. The Philharmonic kicks off the week with a FREE performance of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring led by Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada at our 3rd Annual FREE Day of Music!
