Daniel Strba

Daniel Strba, viola, began his career at age 17 as a member of the United States Army Chamber Orchestra performing for official state functions at The White House. He holds a bachelor of music degree from DePaul University in Chicago and a master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Prior to joining the Houston Symphony in 1992, he performed regularly with the Chicago Symphony. A well-rounded musician, Mr. Strba’s experience ranges from being a member of the Frank Sinatra Orchestra to performing with the Best Little Klezmer Band in Texas and the Swing Serenade Dance Orchestra. He and his wife, entertainer and violinist Marcia Sterling, are the founders of Black Tie Productions. His chamber music career includes membership in such varied ensembles as Governor’s State University Resident String Quartet, The Chicago Ensemble and Houston’s own Greenbriar Consortium.
