Allison Jewett began performing with the Houston Symphony in 2006. Prior to her appointment to the Houston Symphony she served for four seasons as piccoloist with the Houston Ballet. Allison has performed as guest piccolo with orchestras including the Houston Grand Opera, Saint Louis and San Antonio Symphonies, and on flute with the Soli and Olmos chamber ensembles of San Antonio. In past summers she has performed at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, Cactus Pear Music Festival, Utah Festival Opera, Tanglewood Music Center and Aspen Festival.
Allison is active in the Houston community as private instructor, masterclass clinician, and Fidelity FutureStage mentor. She has served on the faculty of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Allison earned her bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music, and her master’s degree at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.
