Si-Yang Lao

Si-Yang Lao, violin, is a native of Canton, China, where he began his violin studies with his father at the age of seven. He went on to be trained at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. After graduation, he became a violin teacher at the Xin-Hai Conservatory of Music for two years before coming to the United States to further his studies at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music. Si-Yang joined the Houston Symphony in 1997. He has performed as soloist with numerous Texas orchestras and has toured with the Chinese Symphony Orchestra and the St. Louis Symphony as well as our own Houston Symphony.
