Texas native Alexandra Adkins joined the first violin section of the Houston Symphony in 2000. Prior to her appointment in Houston she was a member of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Ohio, and appeared frequently with the Dallas Symphony and the Detroit Symphony.
While earning degrees in music from the University of North Texas and the University of Michigan, she was awarded fellowships to the Aspen Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, and the Solti Orchestral Project at Carnegie Hall.
In 2011 Alexandra released her debut solo album, Offering, a project which explores her love of spiritually connective classical music as well as her interest in songwriting. Alex spends her time offstage pursuing interests in biblical studies and school-age child disaster management. She enjoys traveling with husband Steve and sons Noah and Gabriel, and pursuing beauty wherever it is found.
