Haeri Ju, cello, is a native of South Korea, and has performed as principal cellist with a number of ensembles, most recently with the Korean Symphony Orchestra from 2003-2005. She joined the Houston Symphony cello section in 2007. A winner of the Indiana University Hindemith Cello Competition, Dong-a Music Competition and Hankook (Korea) Music Competition, her many honors also include the 2002 Bronze Prize of the Holland American Music Society Competition and a 2002 scholarship from the Sarasota Music Festival. Ju earned her bachelor’s degree from The Korean National University of Arts and an artist diploma from Indiana University in Bloomington.
