The Houston Symphony is conjuring up great music to celebrate the season. Dress up and bring your magical dreams as we turn a Saturday morning into great fun. With a wave of his baton, conductor Robert Franz will cast a spell over the entire audience in this concert featuring music from Harry Potter and Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

 

Hip Hoppin’ Nutcracker

This year, celebrate the holidays with a hip to the hop! The INERTIA Dance Company joins the orchestra to add their characteristically fun and explosive dance routines to the festivities. Enjoy Duke Ellington's hoppin' Nutcracker Suite and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride. A visit from Santa and an audience sing-along will complete this holiday celebration like no other.

 

Aladdin and the Arabian Nights

Take a magic carpet ride as we tour music inspired by Arabia. From the land of enchantment to 1,001 tales, we’ll feature music from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, Adventures of Sinbad and music from Disney’s Aladdin.

 

Dinosaurs!

Get ready! The Symphony’s gonna bring you all the way back to pre-historic times. Join us as we explore dinosaurs, fossils and more.  From the music of John William’s Jurassic Park and Morton Gould’s The Jogger and the Dinosaur, to a special look at the percussion family, this concert will be earth shaking.
